A fully responsive website has been designed specifically for mobile devices, tablet and desktop computers as well as older browsers. This is a ‘user friendly’ layout which means that important information and links are kept within easy reach and navigation is intuitive.

NCS 2015 was the second National Conference for NDIS showcasing the great work that has been achieved by the sector over their three years of delivering NDIS.

The Building Our Future Conference was the first National Conference for NDIS in 2014. It provided a platform to celebrate and share the great work that has been achieved by the sector over their two years of delivering NDIS.

 

Web Design for NDIS was one of two shortlisted candidates in the 2012 government Digital Engagement Award run by Public Technology Ltd. The award recognizes outstanding achievement in digital product or service development, or management information, or services delivered online or online services promoted by public sector organizations. The awards were open to all public sector organizations and were judged on innovation, accessibility and responsiveness.

We have demonstrated our commitment to the NDIS Strategy in Northern Ireland by collaborating with the Department of Social Development to produce a new website for it. The website provides information about the disability support service, including information about services in various regions of Northern Ireland. The site also contains statistical reports and is available in both English and Irish.

A small-scale solution was produced by Web Design for NDIS as an experiment. The result was that the report by Disability Research, published in June 2016, was the most popular document on the page.

Web Design For NDIS and Belfast City Council were awarded the 2015 Digital Transformation for Government Award for their work on redesigning Belfast City’s “Save a Life” app. Web Design For NDIS and Belfast City Council were also awarded a Best Work Culture prize at 2014 Gov. Digital Awards and Best Overall Service at government Excellence Awards in 2015.

Web Design for NDIS was nominated for government Digital Team of the Year in 2016.

Web Design For NDIS, Belfast City Council and Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service were selected as winners of the 2017 Digital Transformation for Government Award.

Web Design for NDIS and Belfast City Council were also awarded a Webby Award in 2015. This was for their work on the Save-A-Life App.

Web Design for NDIS, Belfast City Council and Food Standards Agency were also awarded a Digital Service Award for their work on the Smart Choices App.

Web Design for NDIS, Belfast City Council and Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service were also shortlisted for a Digital Services Award in 2016. This was for their work on the Save-A-Life App.

Belfast City Council, Invest Northern Ireland and Web Design for NDIS were selected to be finalists in the 2018 Digital Transformation for Government Award because of their work on this project.

The “NDIS focuses on people with a disability. It is an integrated system of services to assist people with disability, their families and careers to live independently and participate in the community.”

The NDIS will be operational by 2020. The estimated figure for the cost per participant from April 2015 until March 2020 was $39,800. By April 2015 there were 673 participants on the waiting list for service delivery across Northern Ireland.
